Boothe Memorial Park and Museum:
This 32-acre park claims to be the oldest homestead in the nation,
dating to the 1600s. it features unique buildings and collections
such as the Miniature Lighthouse, the Clock Tower Museum, and an old
toll both from the Merritt Parkway. It also features an award-winning
rose garden and an open-air cathedral.
Paradise Green:
Free band concerts are conducted weekly in the gazebo from early June
through late August.
Golfing:
There are three golf courses, a public par-3 course at Short Beach, http://www.townofstratford.com/content/1302/402/629/1140.aspx and two private clubs, Mill River Country Club and Arnold Palmer’s

Bathing Beaches:
Stratford residents can enjoy swimming and other summer fun at two
public beaches, Short Beach and Long Beach.

Children’s Garbage Museum and Educational Center:
1410 Honeyspot Road extension, (203) 381-9571. This facility features
15 interactive hands-on exhibits to help teach how to reduce, reuse,

Baldwin Center:
1000 West Broad Street, (203) 385-4050. A vital community focal point
where meaningful opportunities programs and transportation are provided

The Judson House and The Catharine Bunnell Mitchell Museum:
967 Academy Hill, (203) 378-0630. The House, c.1750, furnished with
period items and the museum with permanent and changing exhibits of
Stratford history from Colonial times, are open Wednesday, Saturday
and Sunday from mid-May until the end of October, 11 a.m. –
4 p.m. with the last entry at 3 p.m. Adults $2, seniors and children

Roosevelt Forest:
(203) 385-4085. Over three hundred wooded acres in the north of Stratford,
picnic tables, grills, shelter, camping and more. There are great
backgrounds for photos, and areas for picnics. Camping is permissible
for a fee, for residents only – nonresidents can be admitted,
and there are playgrounds, camping sites, picnic grills and more.

The National Helicopter Museum:
2840 Main Street, (203) 375-5766. The National Helicopter Museum is
one of only two in the country devoted entirely to the history of
the helicopter industry. Founded in 1983 this museum puts the development
of the helicopter in perspective with other aviation activities in
Stratford from the early 1900s to today.
This seasonal museum is open to the public starting Memorial Day Weekend
to the middle of October from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday through
Sunday and is located at the Stratford eastbound Railroad Station.

Gull’s Landing Miniature Golf Course:
Short Beach Park, Ct. 06615, (203) 381-6997. Open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday and school holidays in April and May and September
3 – October 27. Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily Memorial Day through
Labor Day (weather permitting). Fees: Adults $3.00, Youth $2.00 12
and under, Sr. Citizens $2.00 62 and over. Open for Schools and Special
parties during the week, birthday parties and picnics are welcome.
YMCA Skate Park:
This area has been designed to provide users with a moderate challenge
for recreation purposes and to help develop their skills. It is open
to the public and all ages. For your safety this is a supervised park,
no skating unless a supervisor is present. It is not possible to design
and build a facility of this nature without hard surfaces. The same
hard surfaces that challenge the user pose significant risk of injury
if the user falls. Please skate with safety and courtesy in mind.
Weather conditions may create unsafe surfaces for users and may require
the park to be closed. Skate Park birthday parties are available.
FEES All participants must become YMCA program members; Membership
Fee is $24.00 a year. All fees paid at YMCA or MINI Golf Booth only.
Skate Park Fee Unlimited Season Pass (Aug- Oct) $90.00, Daily Drop
